PROJECT Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Project

The Dangote Refinery, located on the Lekki Peninsula in Lagos, Nigeria's economic center, covers an area of 2,653 hectares, with a total investment of $19 billion, or about N133.7 billion. When fully operational, it will be able to process up to 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produce different products such as diesel, gasoline and kerosene. The opening of the refinery is expected to end Nigeria's long history of dependence on refined oil imports.

On May 22, 2023 local time, the refinery invested by Nigerian business giant Dangote Group and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was officially completed and put into operation, and the Dangote refinery is the largest single refinery in the world.
