PCK successfully delivered the first batch of 45-meter extra-long pile pipes for the Philippine Offshore Conduit Rack Project. Recently, PCK Lianyungang Company began delivering the super-long pile pipes.

The Philippines Offshore Conduit Rack Project is PCK Lianyungang Company's inaugural conduit rack project. It is situated in the eastern part of Batangas Bay, Batangas City, Philippines, and is intended for the construction of Batangas Port's LNG terminal. Once finished, the terminal will serve as the primary channel for LNG importation in Luzon Island. PCK produced and fabricated 15 trestle conduit racks and trestle top platforms, totaling 14,000 tons. Additionally, 140 piles of piling pipes, with a single length up to 45 meters, were produced for the terminal.

The project required a very demanding technical requirement of 0.1% straightness for the steel pipe piles, with a total straightness deviation of the total length not exceeding 30mm. Due to the length of the docking piling pipe, it is difficult to guarantee its straightness, which can result in a misalignment between the ring welds during assembly. Due to the length of the docking piling pipe, it is difficult to guarantee its straightness, which can result in a misalignment between the ring welds during assembly. To meet project requirements, PCK Lianyungang Company created an elongated track to place each pipe section on before conducting pre-welding assembly. However, during the pre-welding assembly, the large wall thickness of the pipe sections made it easy to produce incorrect edges. This process greatly tested the welding technicians' operating skills and meticulousness.

Additionally, the external welding process for the long pipe project presents many challenges. Prior to performing external welding, it is essential to clear the carbon rod at the pre-welding assembly position. However, due to the significant wall thickness, the actual pre-welding position on the weld channel is thicker during assembly pre-welding. As a result, when clearing the root, the depth of cleaning is more extensive, making it susceptible to burn-through. Therefore, it is necessary to clean it layer by layer on the spot slowly to prevent burn-through. After removing the root, perform up to 10 submerged arc welds on the external surface to ensure complete welding of the entire weld channel. Adjust the external welding after each weld to ensure optimal welding quality.

PCK Lianyungang has produced a 45-meter super-long pile pipe for the 'Philippines Offshore Conduit Rack Project' for the first time. The project has progressed smoothly with full cooperation from Xiamen Chengda. With a persistent determination to overcome challenges and exert all-out efforts, PCK successfully attacked another city while strictly ensuring the quality and delivery date of the order. This laid a solid foundation for Lianyungang Company to produce structural pile pipes that meet the API 2B Structural Steel Pipe Manufacturing Specification in the following years. Additionally, it strengthened confidence in the production of structural extra-long pile pipe orders in the future!
