70,000 tons of steel pipes for Nigeria gas pipeline project, made by PCK in Zhuhai!

On October 13th, 2020, PCK Zhuhai hosted a media group comprising Southern Daily, Zhuhai Special Zone Newspaper, Zhuhai TV Station, Gaolan Harbor District News Center, and other media outlets. The group interviewed PCK Zhuhai on various aspects, including R&D, production, and manufacturing. The focus of the interview was the company's recent super large order - the gas pipeline project of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (Ajaokuta Kaduna Kano Project, hereinafter referred to as AKK) for steel pipe manufacturing. 

The AKK Project, undertaken by PCK this year with the support and operation of the Group, is a significant order and a key project for PCK's deep involvement in the infrastructure construction of the Belt and Road. The export volume of this order, the development of industries around Zhuhai, and the political significance of the project have received attention from the relevant departments of Zhuhai Gaolan Harbor District Government and various media organizations. PCK will supply half of the steel pipes for the project, including supporting equipment and steel pipes for station construction. PCK has taken orders for approximately 140,000 tons of steel pipes, which are expected to be used to lay approximately 304 kilometers of pipelines. Among them, the Zhuhai base is responsible for manufacturing approximately 70,000 tons of steel pipes. This is a significant export project with a large contract value in the Gaolan Harbor Area and even in Zhuhai City this year. It is of great significance to the logistics, port terminals, foreign trade, and other industries in Gaolan Harbor Area and even Zhuhai City, as well as employment. Undoubtedly, this is a boost to the local economy during the epidemic.

During the interview, PCK Zhuhai's Executive Vice President, Su Zhangzhuo, Deputy Chief Engineer, Lai Jianfeng, and JCOE Plant Director, Zeng Qinghu, explained the steel pipe manufacturing process, the project characteristics of the AKK order, and the production organization of the difficult problems. Despite being on land, the natural gas pipelines have high technical requirements due to the complicated terrain along the way. 

The project owner requires the technical standards for submarine oil and gas pipelines to be met. Our company is an advanced manufacturer of submarine oil and gas pipelines and has mastered the technology for manufacturing pipelines that can reach depths of up to 3,500 meters. This is crucial for us to succeed in the market. The manufacturing of onshore pipeline steel pipe products with the technical requirements of submarine pipelines is a complex process.
