PCK Pipes Takes on Shenzhen-China Corridor Project After Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge

On August 23, 2018, six large-diameter and large-tonnage steel protection barrel spiral pipe piles were successfully loaded onto the ship at PCK Zhuhai wharf. This marks the successful delivery of the first batch of steel pipes produced by PCK Zhuhai for the Shenzhen-Zhonghai Corridor Project.

PCK Zhuhai has taken on another national marine engineering project, following the Pingtan Gorge Bridge and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge projects. The project spans approximately 24 kilometers, linking Shenzhen and Zhongshan, with a cross-sea section of around 22 kilometers. 

This project features a single pipe with a diameter of 3.3 meters, a length of 35 meters, and a weight of 64 tons. The pipe body attachments are staggered, and the anti-corrosion process meets high standards. The manufacturing precision exceeds that of general steel pipes, and the product must pass strict third-party testing. For this reason, PCK Zhuhai established a special project team for the Shenzhen-Zhonghai Corridor. The team fully integrated the use of existing resources, improved the submerged arc welding and molding control, and enhanced the anti-corrosion process. They overcame several technical difficulties to ensure that the final product meets the 100-year service life requirement for the Shenzhen-Zhonghai Corridor. Through the system, data such as material inspection and parameter indicators can be entered to manage information technology. This ensures traceable quality control and significantly improves production efficiency. The delivery cycle can be reduced from 10 days per ship to 4 days per ship.
